New energy — new opportunities for communities
Village and town communities and amalgamated communities mostly stay outside the attention of energy market players because their needs are relatively small. Yet one of the key advantages of renewable energy is that it is local and can be scaled to specific needs. We aim to remove this mismatch and help communities solve their energy problems with new energy solutions.
About this direction
Village and town councils and amalgamated communities have the same problems as cities: expensive energy, cold buildings, water supply and boiler houses stopping during outages. The difference is scale — and it is scale that takes a community out of the market's view. A large contractor gains nothing from preparing a project of a few hundred kilowatts, and a large lender gains nothing from considering a loan of a few million hryvnias.
We start with the problem, not the solution. First we look at where the community is losing money or energy right now: the structure of its bills, contracts, consumption patterns, the state of its equipment. Then we create the solution the community needs.
We take the work through to the result, and economic viability lets us choose how: the community's own resources, grant support or a private partner.

Reliable supply of basic services is the foundation of a community's prosperity and normal life in it.

Water supply, boiler house, lighting: small but critical facilities where an outage means the service stops for the whole settlement.

They have resources but no steady flow of clients. Working with us and the communities creates a stable, predictable flow of clients who need capital to solve their energy problems.

Our principles
- First we determine the current state. Then the potential to optimise it. Then the investment solutions.
- We calculate hourly — 8,760 hours a year. The scale of the project does not change the method: a calculation for a community must withstand the same scrutiny as one for a city.
- We are not tied to equipment suppliers and receive no fees from them.
- We take solutions through to the result. Including with our own capital.
Seeing it through
A calculation alone changes nothing. So this direction includes two things without which a project stays on paper.
Financing
At community scale the money comes not from international banks but from other sources: an ESCO contract, where the investment is repaid from actual savings; the community's own funds; Cossack Energy's own resources; small grant programmes. We know the requirements of each source and prepare the project for them from the start.
Support
We stay with the project until the result: preparing the decision for the council session, procurement requirements, reviewing contractors' offers, supervising delivery, confirming actual savings after implementation.
